1. Who we are

Marvize Statistics is operated by Rui Liang carrying on business as MARVIZE, a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia, Canada (Registration No. FM1057445). MARVIZE provides educational support services through its statistics learning platform.

MARVIZE is responsible for personal information under its control. The privacy contact for MARVIZE is the Marvize Privacy Officer, reachable at marvize.support@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only information reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and improve Marvize. Depending on how you use the service, this may include:

  • Account information, such as your email address, account identifier, and authentication/session information.
  • Learning information, such as course progress, lesson answers, mastery information, saved chats, sync state, and Student Memory generated from your learning activity.
  • Content you submit, including chat prompts, screenshots, images, PDFs, and other supported files that you choose to send to the AI Tutor.
  • Subscription information, such as plan status, Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, payment status, and cancellation state. MARVIZE does not receive or store your full payment card number or card security code when payments are processed through Stripe.
  • Technical and service information, such as browser/session data, request information, security logs, and usage information needed to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and enforce service limits.
  • Support communications that you send to our support email.

3. How we use information

We use personal information for purposes such as:

  • creating and authenticating accounts;
  • saving and synchronizing learning progress and chat history;
  • providing AI Tutor responses, deterministic statistics checks, and requested visualizations;
  • processing subscriptions, checking entitlements, and supporting billing;
  • preventing abuse, protecting accounts, and maintaining service security;
  • responding to support requests and correcting account or billing issues;
  • maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of Marvize; and
  • meeting legal, regulatory, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

4. AI Tutor and uploaded content

When you use the AI Tutor, the prompts, conversation context, and supported files needed to answer your request may be sent to OpenAI, our AI service provider, for processing. MARVIZE uses that processing to generate the requested tutoring response and related features.

Do not upload information that you do not have the right to share. Avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for your use of the service.

5. Service providers

MARVIZE relies on service providers to operate the platform. These currently include:

  • Supabase for authentication and cloud data services;
  • Stripe for checkout, subscription, and payment processing; and
  • OpenAI for AI Tutor processing.

These providers process information on our behalf or as otherwise described in their applicable service terms. Depending on provider infrastructure, personal information may be processed or stored outside British Columbia or outside Canada and may therefore be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction.

6. Browser storage and sessions

Marvize uses browser storage and authentication/session technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in, preserve local learning state, support account synchronization, and remember application state. Stripe may use its own technologies when you visit Stripe-hosted checkout or billing pages.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing your account, maintaining records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud or abuse, and meeting legal or accounting obligations. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.

You may contact us to request deletion of your account or personal information. Some information may need to be retained where required or permitted by law, including billing, fraud-prevention, security, or record-keeping information.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so users should also protect their passwords and devices and contact us if they believe their account has been compromised.

9. Your privacy choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of personal information under our control, ask questions about how information is handled, withdraw consent where withdrawal is legally available, or request deletion of information. Some requests may affect our ability to provide part or all of the service.

To make a privacy request, email marvize.support@gmail.com and include enough information for us to understand and verify the request.

10. Privacy laws

MARVIZE is based in British Columbia and handles personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and, where applicable, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
